This session will allow fifth grade teachers time to explore and learn how to teach the Infection Detection PLTW module. Teachers will be able to feel confident in implementing second semester PLTW modules that align with the fifth grade science map.
We will take a look at how to start collaborative conversations between classroom teachers and special education teachers to ensure all students are getting what they need in the classroom. We will talk about accommodations, paraeducator resources, and the role of SPED case managers in the PLC process.
By the end of the session, educators will have a better understanding as to how to better meet the needs of Special Education students in their classrooms.
Students with blindness and visual impairments learn in different ways than their peers. They have trouble seeing regular print materials, lessons or pictures projected at the front of the room, visually cluttered displays, and even faces and facial expressions. Learn what it's like to function as a visually impaired individual, and learn how to identify signs and get help for your students. Educators will know who to contact when in need of visual services.
