About me
SMSD is the only district I have been a part of throughout my career. I have a total of 31 years. I taught for four years, then I stayed home with my babies for a few years. While staying home I started a private tutoring service and once my children started school I headed back to the classroom and have been back full time for 27 years. During my time with SMSD, I have covered a variety of teaching positions. I started teaching in first grade, when I returned to teaching I was in third grade for two years before moving back to first grade for several years. Next, I was a reading specialist for eight years, then two years as an Innovation specialist, and am currently wrapping up my fifth year as a resource teacher in special education. During my career, I have been in several locations across the district. I started teaching at Brookwood, then opened McAuliffe, next I took some time off for my children. When I returned to teaching I was at Commanche, next to Benninginnghoven for 19 years. I am currently at Brookridge.
