Artsonia: Effective Assessment Tool for Elementary Art LIMITED

This session is only applicable for elementary art teachers
In this session we will explore the district approved app Artsonia. We will look at ways to effectively implement the app for portfolio building, student reflection and assessment, as well as how to set up your classroom and develop routines and procedures for student independence and success.
In this session Art Teachers will:
1) become familiar with the app Artsonia.
2) explore ways Artsonia can be used as an assessment tool for measuring Responding, Presenting and Connecting art standards.
3) learn how to set up classroom structures, routines and procedures to manage Artsonia portfolio development and build student independence, responsibility and success.

Kilns, Safety, and Clay - OH MY! LIMITED

This session is only applicable for elementary art teachers.In this session we will learn about the basics of kiln firing, review best practices for 3D projects, and how to plan and scaffolding projects to build needed clay skills across 7 grade levels and for a range of student capabilities and experiences on every level.
In this session Art Teachers will:
1) learn kiln firing processes and procedures, safety policies, and valuable tips for consistent successful firing.
2) learn a structured scaffolded progression of 3D clay manipulation skills, developmentally appropriate and achievable for each grade level, and how to develop projects and procedures to build these skills in all students.
3) effective classroom procedures and structures for student independence and successfully implementing an engaging, quality learning experience through clay exploration and 3D project creation.
