This session will give practical tools, strategies & resources to helpelementary teachers differentiate for their high-ability & gifted learners. Teachers will explore strategies to engage students once they have mastered a concept, such as enrichment activities, open-ended questions, and creative projects. Teachers will discover practical methods to encourage independent learning, such as setting up learning contracts, creating self-paced projects, and utilizing research-based resources. Teachers will learn how to use flexible grouping strategies to provide opportunities for gifted students to work with peers of similar abilities, while also fostering collaboration with diverse learners. Participants will gain ideas for how to consistently assess and adjust their teaching methods to continue challenging gifted students after they have mastered a concept.
